On 2 nd of March, 25 students from the Mechanical Engineering Department of FISAT participated in the ASME’s prestigious E-fest, Asia Pacific at LNM Institute of Information Technology, Jaipur, Rajasthan. They took part in the Human Powered Vehicle Challenge (HPVC), Addictive Manufacturing Challenge (IAM3D), Student Design Challenge (SDC), Old Guard Oral Presentation and Old Guard Poster Presentation. The SDC team won 2 nd prize, the IAM3D team finished among the top three projects chosen to compete in the international level round in Ohio, USA and the HPVC team was the 31 st team out of 42 teams that took part.
ENDURANCE 1.2 SDC
Student Design Competition or SDC in short was conducted as part of engineering fest (E-Fest) East Asia pacific hosted by the elite association of mechanical engineers worldwide known as American Society Of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). SDC along with various other competitions were held at LNMIIT, Jaipur on March 3 rd 4 th and 5 th of 2017.
Our team name is ENDURANCE and we are a 7 member team. Our team won 2 nd prize in the same.
The objective of the competition was to make a wired or wireless robot
which can perform five tasks, which are:
Tennis ball throwing
Golf ball hitting
SATVAN - HPVC
Notably Team SATVAN was the only team from Kerala and one of the two teams from south India along with VIT to get a chance to participate in HPVC 2017. The vehicle design was recognised as one among best designs featured in the whole competition and it captured the attention of many top ASME Officials who were attending the event.

The IAM3D team – Prometheus finished among the top three projects.
